2008 Reunion Page

The 2008 reunion will be in Tennessee at the Park Vista Hotel from October 1 to October 5.  Steve Springer will coordinate. For a look at the beautiful accommodations check out www.parkvista.com  

Dear Diablo Crew Member

Steve Springer, Diablo (62-63) has done a great job as the Host Coordinator in arranging our reunion at the beautiful Park Vista Hotel. The Diablo sailors and family and others that have visited Park Vista rave about how good it is. Steve has also arranged two days of interesting tours;

Trip #1 – Thursday October 2^nd

Approx. 9:00am (0900) we will board a bus for the Five Oaks Mall. We will leave there and return to the hotel about 1:30pm (1330). The $10.00 is for transportation only. Lunch is on your own.

Trip # 2 – Thursday October 2^nd

Approx. 4:30pm (1630) we will leave the hotel for a show and dinner at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.

Trip # 3 – Friday October 3rd

Approx. 10:00 am (1000) we will leave the hotel for Cherokee, N.C. We will have lunch at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. After lunch those who wish to stay at Harrah’s and enjoy the great casino action may do so.  All other passengers will be taken to Cherokee for shopping and sightseeing.  We will be back at the hotel around 5:00pm (1700).

The hospitality room will be open to enjoy meeting your old friends and meeting new ones. It is a time Faye and I look forward to each year. The Diablo has a great bunch of sailors from the plank owners to those that made her last dive. The hospitality room schedule will be in your package at reunion.

The Diablo business meeting will be held Saturday morning. Time and place will be announced later.

The reunion group rate of $99.00 per night will be good for three days prior and three days after the scheduled reunion dates of October 1-5, 2008. You can obtain additional information on the hotel at www.parkvista.com. Call, mail or e-mail me if you wish additional information.

We have had some great reunions. If you have never attended one or haven’t attended in recent years, give yourself and family a great treat and come to Gatlinburg for a great reunion/vacation. Have a great time with old shipmates and meet a great bunch of other Diablo sailors. Hope to see you in Gatlinburg.
